Audie Murphy, WWII vet and combat hero, visits the inter-zonal border. The bridge he is standing on is possibly part of the autobahn to Chemnitz (East Germany) and lies northeast of Hof. The German on Murphy's right is a member of the Bundesgrenzschutz. The officer on his left is unidentified.
(Response from Robert Ewing: I believe the officer with Audie Murphy was LTC Maurice Kendall. He was his company commander during the war. He eventually attained the rank of Major General and retired in 1978. Just thought I would share that with you.)
