Apparently these pictures were taken when some unit (C Battery, 2nd OBSN Bn, 25th FA, VII Corps Artillery) was crossing the bridge. Normally we only crossed one of our own vehicles. The view in this photo is looking east towards the town of Rheinhausen. The Navy "Mules" are on the left side and on the right side are the winches with cables going to shore, which kept the bridge under control or the river current would have swept the bridge down stream. Note the bridge is a triple, single Bailey. I was told that it was a British Bailey.
