5th Engineer Combat Battalion History

5th Engineer (C) Battalion DUI

The 5th Engr (C) Bn arrived in Germany as part of the Korea Augmentation in December 1951. Assigned to V Corps, the battalion is stationed in Giessen.

Lt Col Harllee R. O'Neal is the current commander of the 5th Engr (C) Bn.

The 5th Engr (C) Bn is a subordinate unit of the 37th Engineer (Combat) Group. CO of the battalion is Lt Col P. B. Hackett.

Lt Col William H. Fairchild is the current commander of the 5th Engr (C) Bn in Giessen.

Webmaster note: LTC Fairchild was reassigned to HQ V Corps in December 1954.
