40th Artillery Group (Redstone) (Photo submitted by Jim Ryan who served in Btry A, 1st Msl Bn, 333rd Arty) Photos were taken December 23, 1960 at 40th Artillery headquarters in Wackernheim, at an annual Group Christmas Party for kids from a Wackernheim area orphanage. Those of us in BK from 580th Engineers and "A" Battery would travel to Wackernheim for the afternoon. We each "adopted" a child for the afternoon. The kids had ice cream and cake, etc., and received a gift from Santa Claus. Kids enjoying ice cream and cake. This was my little guy for the afternoon.
