The 59th Military Police Company was re-activated in 1957 at Bremerhaven, FRG and furnished port security and pulled routine MP duty in the Bremerhaven Port area and provided MP Patrols in the Bremerhaven area in support of the Bremerhaven Provost Marshal Law Enforcement Mission.

During 1965, the Bremerhaven PMO became a detachment of the 510th MP Detachment-Area Provost Marshal (APM) Hessen Area, headquartered in Giessen, Germany.

The 59th MP Company supported the 510th MP Detachment/Area Provost Marshal, Hessen Area conducting Port Security and the law enforcement mission within the 510th MP Detachment, Bremerhaven area of operation (AO).

In June 1969, the 59th MP Co was assigned to the 709th Military Police Battalion, remaining at Bremerhaven and providing MP support to the 510th MP Detachment.

Former members located in Pirmasens, Worms and Zweibrücken will remember the call signs: Pirmasens " PRIME RIVET" Worms " WIZARD DEACON" Zweibrücken "GRAINY MOTH".

On 29 April 1971, due to realignment of MP units within USAREUR, the 59th Military Police Company was deactivated and replaced with Co A, 709th MP BN in the Bremerhaven area.

In 1977, Co C, 95th Military Police Battalion, Husterhoeh Kaserne, Pirmasens was re-designated as the 59th MP Company, headquartered in Pirmasens with Platoons in Worms and Zweibrücken.

On 20 October 1993, the 59th MP Company was redeployed from Germany to Ft. Carson, Colorado.

Here is some information on the 59th MP Co.

I was the 1SG of the 59th from Oct 1977 to Oct 1980. When I arrived the 59th had one platoon in Bremerhaven at Schultz Kaserne and one platoon in Zweibrucken, the company headquarters and one platoon were located at Husterhoeh Kaserne at Pirmasens. Due to the distance it was hard for us to support the platoon in Bramerhaven. Therefore, the colors of the Bramerhaven platoon and the 64th MP Det. which was located in Worms were switched. Now the Company was at Pirmasens, Zweibrucken and Worms and it was easier to support our two outlaying platoons.

I know at one time, 1959, the entire 59th was located in Bramerhaven.

There is nothing on the MP Units page about the 64th MP Detachment or the 110th MP Platoon. The 110th MP Platoon was at Kelly Barracks, VII HQ. I was assigned to the 110th in 1961 to 1962. We were security for VII HQ and were the honor guard platoon.

When I first went to Germany, Jan 1960, I was assigned to the Security Platoon, 630 Ord. Co., 40th Arty Gp. When it was time for me to be reassigned I was placed TDY to the Mainz Det. of B Company, 382 MP Bn for 60 days until my new assignment was made. The Mainz Det was made up of MPs from B Co., 8th MP Co. (all of the 8th MP Co. MPs in Mainz were airborne) and six of us from the 40th Arty Gp.

Hope this information helps.

On 21 March 1973, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment and Companies A, B and C, 95th Military Police Battalion were activated in Germany.

HHD, 95th MP BN was headquartered in Wertheim and the Companies were located in Mannheim, Karlsruhe, and Kaiserslautern. HHD, 95th MP BN would later relocated to Taylor Barracks, Mannheim, Germany.
I happen to know for fact that C company, 95th MP BN was stationed in Wurzburg and Kitzingen during this period. I was the last man out of the unit after it was changed to B company 793rd and assigned to Nurenburg's HQ.

You also leave out the double unit citation 95th MP earned due to being wiped out to the man in Viet Nam and Korea. It was no small secret that the unit was reactivated in Germany temporarily so it could be deactivated without taint of having been wiped out.

C Company, 95th MP BN, 15th Brigade, Kitzingen and Wurzburg -- In late 1975 as I recall we were changed to B Co, 793rd MP with BN HQ in Furth (Nuremberg).

I was one of the very few "transitional" VOLAR MPs who were later tasked with training all the replacement MPs shipped from stateside after the draftees not choosing to re-enlist were released in Dec 1974. I also personally trained the first female Line Duty MPs assigned to our Battalion. I also was one of 12 MPs chosen to train all the new MPs being sent to Bamburg. The 15th Brigade messed up and only had draftees in Bamberg, so they had no resources. We had to maintain patrols and OJT all the stateside transfers until the unit was up to strength from January 1975 through March 1975.

Let's just say I had a very busy 3 year tour.
