203rd Army Postal Unit (Source: Mary Kulakowski) Third Army requisitioned the hotel at Riessersee near Garmsich in 1945 and operated it as a rest center for Third Army troops. Control of the Riessersee Hotel passed over to the Recreation Area once that activity was established and remained in US hands for many years thereafter.
