| I was with the 16th Service Co until June 1968 until it was reassigned to Ft Lee. It is still active only it is the 16th Quartermaster Co. When the 16th reassigned, it was under REFORGER and yes, it was at Spinelli Barracks, Mannheim. We were a service company. We worked in the depot warehouses and also were in charge of a lumber and chemical yard. There were a lot of other areas we touched on like a shuttle truck for people between the different barracks. Some of us took our AIT at Ft Lee, for like laundry, clothing and boot repair, but never used the MOS. I guess you could say that we were a service company. Since it was renamed quartermaster co people are actually doing things that they were trained for. It was still good duty.. |
