General Dwight D. Eisenhower, first Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), greets men of the 2nd Armored Division at Camp Y-79 near Mannheim. Upon arrival at Bremerhaven, the 2nd Armd Division was transferred to troop trains and moved to Camp Y-79 for staging. From Y-79 the units would then move by truck to the various new stations. (The official Army photographer was Bill Doyle, 7796th Sig Co. He believes the shot was taken on 14 August 51.)
