Formation of the US Constabulary, 1 May 1946
Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, US Constabulary, was organized on 1 May 1946 at Bamberg, Germany from personnel of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, VI Corps.
In the early period, the US Constabulary consisted
of a Headquarters and Headquarters Troop located at Bamberg to which three
brigades were attached:
1st CON Brigade
at Wiesbaden
2nd CON Brigade
at Munich
3rd CON Brigade
at Stuttgart
