Vienna Area Command History

The Vienna Command was established June 1, 1945, at Vienna, Austria, in accordance with Headquarters, Fifteenth Army Group General Order 19.

On July 1, 1945, it was replaced by the Vienna Area Command by authority of Headquarters, Fifteenth Army Group General Order 22 of June 29, 1945.

On July 5, 1945, the Vienna Area Command fell under the jurisdiction of U.S. Forces in Austria (USFA).

The Vienna Area Command was discontinued on February 15, 1948, pursuant to USFA General Order 16, February 12, 1948.
