Comments My father is a veteran of the 350th Infantry Regiment; Company H (Camp St. Johann) and HQ Company 7689 (Camp Trusscott)Oct '53 to March '55. I'm interested in providing information for this site as well as attempting to find some patches, DUI's and medals for a present for him. I plan on interviewing him to get at some of the details of his tour (i.e. mountain training etc.).

Comments Tomorrow October 23rd marks the 50 year anniversary of the Hungarian Uprising. Many of the Austrian Occupation vets that visit this great website, I am sure remember this. As for me, I was standing radio watch for the 58th AIB, once the 350th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Batallion, at Taylor Barracks Germany. I received a FLASH message (Z for ZULU). I was scared because a Z message meant the real thing, not a practice alert, and contacted the Duty Officer. We went to full alert and the rest is history. What are the rememberances of those of you that were there at the time? Respectfully, Emmett Clifford

Comments Can someone shed light on the Allied Postal Committee stationed in Vienna 1946? I recently acquired a picture taken in Vienna on April 18, 1946 that identifies the following individuals: Mr West (British (my grandfather)) along with Capt Panov (Russia), Lt. Col Dean (American), Col Head (British), Maj Riesnof (Russian), Miss Behn (British), Capt. Kayse (French) and Lt. Noymiss (French). I apologize if I have the names incorrect - very faded typing on the back. In the top left it says HQ USFA 46 1353. My grandfather had worked for the British Postal Service but I have no idea what his role would have been at the time the picture was taken. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Comments My father, Peter Perry, was stationed at Tulln Air Base in 1949-1950. I am not sure of the exact dates. He was a Sergeant, then Staff Sergeant, with the 7360 Air Base Group Military Police. My father died in 2001 and I'm doing a little research on his life. Did anyone serve with my father at that time?

Comments My dad, Johnny Ledford, was stationed at Co K, 350 Inf Regt, Salzburg, Austria from 1950-1952. I was born at the US Military hospital on January 28,1952. I was premature (born at 7 months) and weighed less than 4 pounds. The doctors did not think I would survive the night, so a priest was called and he came and baptised me. A Catholic nurse who was on duty agreed to be my Godmother. I ended up in an incubator for 2 months before I was sent home. I was wondering if anyone out there would possibly remember the who the nurse was/is. I would love to get touch with her. If anyone knows my father, please email me. He lives in Pisa, Italy and am sure he would love to hear from you. Gloria
